Support the Arts

I always find it kinda funny when someone cold calls my studio and says “I help artists with their business.” My standard reply “Oh, you buy a lot of art?” generally stops them in their tracks.

More often than not, I think those who appreciate a specific work don’t realize that without patronizing the artist, that artist might not be able to survive, let alone thrive, in their craft. With so many friends out there who are designers, visual artists, musicians, chefs and writers, I think it’s safe to say that without their creations, it would be a far less colorful world.

Go out and support the arts that inspire you, or you may not have the opportunity to do so tomorrow. You’ll enjoy listening to, reading, eating, wearing, or looking at art that will continue to stimulate your senses (and those whom you share it with) for a long time.

  1. Wow, Brian, is that your place?! Wonderful, chic and metropolitan! And great art gracing the walls!

  2. all collectors who supported the arts heidi. i helped with the art choices for the spaces.

LOVE THAT!!! Says SO much! I may not get phone calls…but I do a lot with social media, and am amazed at the amount of twitter followers or facebook things I get that have to do with “we can help you with your art business.” I think next time I’m going to respond the way you did :)
