Shasta – approach from Weed, CA

After recently flying a kite-wing with my son Taylor Keola and getting tugged off our feet,  and swimming chunky Makapu’u…  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1fvwhB2l…

Winter reflections and refractions ..

… time for rest, dreams, and involutions … following a giving-thanks and rebirthday, anniversary retreat to quietude, sauna, springs, and ice-encrusted stream dipping … snow shoeing the flanks of Shasta last weekend … scintillating and waist deep …

at the SF PEACE PROJECT event, I was drawn to a particular art-peace, Child’s Rapture…  and it is now illuminating the entry to our working classroom/studio… it elicits many delighted comments from Students .. which in turn delights me … so much radiance in a relatively diminutive image … you can see it displayed in the Peace Project page on The Whole 9 …

Praying-for-deliverance, from the daily drubbing of our babylonian school system  … it was of course, Native American Heritage Month in November .. lamentably.  my students’ awareness of Native America, is often defined by how many times they’ve seen Disney’s Pocahontas. ( That said, thanks Diz, for TRON 1, and I do hold some cautious hope for TRON 2 ).

As far as I know, Native America (ns) are still virtually overlooked,  in our current CA HS  “standardized curriculum”… under the heels of manifest destiny, gold-rush “Golden State”  mind-f- – -ery  … to wit, our little and mighty radio station broadcasts an hour of indigenous and native inspired musicality daily, thanks to the generosity, talent and vision of Doug Wendt (Native Son Rising / www.midnightdread.com) and Gregg McViccar (Undercurrents / www.undercurrentsradio.net) … while I did place announcements on the school-wide PA daily, pithy props/brief bios of  “prominent Natives” .. these were invariably  read, from the main office, in typical HS musical/cum-smart-aleck-style.

While recently revisitng the soaring soprano of Roy Orbison, transcendentalisms of Earth Wind and Fire, and the joyous shake- down of KC and the Sunshine Band …  we have been warmed, of late, by musicalities flowing in from Luca Ciarla and Adria,  Mikel Rouse, Ceelo Green,  Makana, Mark Matos, Dave Mihaley’s Shimmering Leaves, The Pick Pocket Ensemble, Kaya Project, Mitch Marcus,  Kartick and Gotam, Taj Weeks, The Cuban Cowboys, Orquesta D’Soul, Elliot Smith, and Mos Def (Ecstatic). Mo’ soon

As the starry night maximizes its annual seasonal reach in your vicinity, and into your heart … and the day/light begins to grow, what may be stirring in your soul ?    = : ) ~

ViPS .. if you like flash mob events, this holiday inspired Hallelujah might have you tingling …

yep, i saw this before, and i think everyone is forwarding it to eachother. with good reason, too!

This is a stunning example of what can happen when a spark of inspiration is ignited. Just by singing a song in an unexpected place, these people have touched over 8 million people. When I watched it this morning, I actually started crying, thinking about how possible it is to make a change when people think creatively.

I’m wowed by the hallelujah chorus. AMAZING GRACE. Really taps into our tribal need for universal harmony.

The power of music in full harmonic stride~

Merry Christmas Mr. Potter!!!

Me Beg Dat Peace

Looking forward to the Peace Project vibzin up San Francisco ( and beyond) this month.

While O’Reilly et al refer to SF in terms like “the San Francisco Syndrome”, and their opponents, real and imagined, as “living in a bubble world”, and not the real world. I do observe his talking (squawking) points, same as I do the new CD by Taj Weeks, A Water-Logged Soul Kitchen.

The Pundit and the Rasta make the same points about what’s going terribly wrong.

Nonetheless,  we seem deadlocked / powerless to achieve genuine, inspired insight,  beyond the subconscious and thus recurring causes, to  affect consensus and take the circular-reconciled view, and embark on long road of consciousness/ policy change. Long road, as what gets set in motion tends to stay in motion, notably ideas, enforced by the emotional energy of belief.

Waterlogged indeed, Katrina inundated, FEMA-ignored NoLeans and Gulf Coast, subsequently bathed in oil. Winton Marsalis stated in Spike Lee’s “Levees Broke”, that Katrina held up a mirror for a searingly looong time, allowing us a long stare at our National excesses and glaring blind spots, and yet the beat and expenditures of WAR go on. One of the documentaries local inteviewees  rolled his eyes softly inward and described a friend’s comments that Katrina started balling up off the West African Coast, and perhaps represents the unsettled spirits of the Dark Passage coming to wake up America to its inequities and iniquities.

While what John Stewart (at his well attended Mall rally) et al, call the “Conflictinator”, howls about the imperatives to aggress against terrorism, and economic collapse, blaming everyone except themselves. We’ve been slimed, who ya gonna call?  Popular media echoes the same conflicts as news and entertainment, while pop musics and radio stations generally keep out of the fray, preferring to preserve profits and keep advertisers /viewers “happy” (mesmerized / deluded)  … the ” happiness machine” described in Adam Curtis/ Century of Self .  The advertising-entertainment complex.  Even our educational institutions largely perpetuate the same stories, stuck in a rut, like a broken record … an education-stagNation complex?

This last week, two very-produced parodies of Obama hit You Tube; “The Very Model of  Model of a Modern US President”  ( @ 1 million views to date) and the other “ Baraka Flaka Flame” ( @ 1.6 million views)  … which wolf shall we feed?

Disasters will persist personally, collectively until the subconscious material is exposed  acknowledged, and transmuted. Noticing many images of angels/organics/crossroads, cosmos… hinting that the Quingdom of heaven (the patterns of peace, rumors and conditions of peace) and Creation are within and without (you) if we will let it be … SHARING IS CARING …

MAY PEACE… JOY… LOVE… ABUNDANCE … HAPPINESS  …  SHINE !

HO’OMAKE MAKE …  = : ) ~

Sweleanor Rigby?

Roosevelt … with all due respect to Rigby, or the swell one …

One of my students asked me “who are your favorite musicians”..

Things that make you go hmmm …

I stalled and said I’d get back to him, and I will, likely with this:

Great minds discuss ideas.

Average minds discuss events.

Small minds discuss people.

Can this concept be applied to music ???

The concepts of Music, musicality, merit, purpose, enjoyment, broadcast,  are endlessly and relatively defined, promoted, or defended. It depends on anyone’s individual or group-affinity compass. I have heard passionate listeners of all predilections describe their music (genre) in religious terms.

Adapted from Gandhi’s Seven Deadly Sins, and a great stretch from current conversations,  I will ask my young chargé, and you esteemed reader, how you may feel about the about the following,  … albeit conceptually a bit out there, and under-construction.  Is it fair, can we apply/adapt Gandhian principles to our boom boxes, stations, or dance floors?

What function or fun is that?

Great Musics in their dimension and expression might approach, sonically, lyrically, and rhythmically address, critique, express, celebrate, describe :

Seven Restorative Revivifying (Musical) Themes Virtues/Adjustments.

Share Wealth as Fruit of Good Works

(receive / give back / harvest + sew seeds)

Correlate Conscience in Pleasure

(reciprocate spherical generosity )

Crystallize Character in Application of Knowledge

(universal value-centricity)

Weave Morality Into Fair Commerce

(one for/in all for/in one, reward producers / envisioneers )

Apply Science for Upliftment of All Life and Humanity

(ecology = economy)

Sacrifice for Greater Good Through Reverence and Worship

(religions as unifying harmonic value tones)

Practice Politics As Lawful Expression of Universal Creation Principles

(administration of creation = veritical politic)

I’ll get back to you with any fruits of this discussion in class, and back to the class with any blog comments …

Any musical reflections that make you go hmmmm?

Any and all respected artists, will agree that longevity plays a big part when it comes to building a relationship with your fan base.

To grow and/or flourish as a musician requires time and patience from the record labels; something not every signed artist will have the luxury of recieving. The record industry is no longer run by artisans or music loving visionaries as they were back in the day but by corporate entities that want nothing more than to generate earnings and produce positive cash flow for it’s shareholders.

Furthermore, how can and artist grow when they are always touring?

Musicians continually need to tour in order to keep themselves in the public eye and move merchandise. Music fans are very difficult to satisfy as their choices are many and technological advances being what they are, they have a multitude of entertainment choices at their fingertips.

On the flip side, musicians enjoy the ease at which they are able to reach thousands if not millions of music lovers across the globe thanks to Apple Itunes, Napster, Last FM, Lala, Spotify, CD Baby and social networks such as myspace, facebook and twitter.

If my band mates and I had access to this type of technology we may have been able to increase the odds in getting signed to a major label but it means nothing if you don’t deliver the goods.

Rock on~

Elevator Innovator

Growing and older .. ever-the-more sensitive perhaps .. I now readily understand why geezers sought some peace through “ Easy Listening” / Elevator Musics, Muzac, though hardly elevating …

These recent weeks, with the onslaught of autumnal scholastic rhythms and concomitant stressors, I am awakening each morning, to review my dreams, affirm life, and engage in quietude/contemplation study … as the twilight parts and sun rises … I seek some peace.

This predawn hour is lately accompanied by two favorite recorded works :

Alex Theory’s “Light” and a recent arrival, Ishq, “ Sama”. I am reminded that when I first started broadcasting worldOneradio, the six pm hour was devoted to sonic vespers, over a decade … an hour of progressively deeper dive, and then awakening …. ethereal and earthy/visceral .. searching / soothing / healing … my broadcast colleagues had trouble with how chill the hour was … I see that the vibes are calling me back .. and they are winding their way back into my heart/mind and playlists … including my classroom … afternoon classes enjoy 5-7 minutes of quietude … personally, I stay busy .. but the youth are eager for it and enjoy the reboot .. I would too if I had been up half the night on Facebook or videogames … carrramba … we all need more peace in our area-fari…

worldOne recently hosted the California Coastal Cleanup event in SF. BIG FUN !

A picture perfect WARM sparkly day at Ocean Beach .. following the clean-up the beach was full of joyful play, sun bathing and surfing. WOW .. the musics/sound-system  sounded particularly resonant (due to suprizingly calm air). NICE !

Musaically, we fell over Blacktronic series lately, and are charmed by the Cool D Vision dance-centric mixes and sequencing of Italian DJ/ compiler Bruno Bolla. We have added to our worldOneradio mixology this week, among others (selections from) : Buju Banton’s strong new release “ Before the Dawn”  .. The Roots / John Legend “” Wake Up” …  Santana’s “Guitar Heaven”   .. Tracy Bonham’s “Masts Over Manhattan”, Avishai Cohen’s , “Aurora” , Meklit Hadero’s “On a Day Like This”, and Janet Planet’s “Dylan Songbook” . We also had to revisit Playing for Change’s You Tube “Stand By Me” … and Stevie Wonder’s Ngiculela …

Flower Power Sownd

These recent late summer weeks have us traveling our region a bit … and receiving framily guests/ collaborators at home … Local, live, and lot of billiard balls in motion, literally.

Last weekend found us at the Monterrey County Fair … and wriggling backstage to greet Ruckatan, a sturdy, sparkly-eyed, inventive, latin-reggae-dub outfit. Already in the worldOneradio mix.

Tried to catch Z-MAN, hip hop, at the Blue Fin right on Cannery Row  … set advertised for 9, so I figured 10,.. we left the club at 10:30 as the set had not begun … grrrr…. thankfully, we had greeted/connected with Z Man while he and his crew earlier while they were getting a bite …  while we were waiting for the set, my wife and I played billiards (enthusiastically and rather poorly)  …good clean fun in a spacious setting …  when three statuesque LEGGY women set up shop on an adjacent table .. girls-night-out apparently, each in H I G H heels and a black skin tight and/or scooped and /or backless mini  … juuust to the nalgitas  … yeow + LOL .. it destroyed everyone’s billiards game in the vicinity …. maybe they had just slid out of the bay (silkies? sirens? ) my beloved wife felt the trio was turning it UP a bit too recklessly

On to Esalen for a first visit and a Community Day celebration featuring delicious organic fare and live music … and lots of naked, loquacious, elder locals in the otherwise famously quiet and reverent cliff-hugging tubs … (looking like so many pots of crab-leg-soup !)  ….  caught several sets on the main lawn , and was particularly impressed my LoCura’s  flamenco fusions .. toured the grounds and headed back to the Bay Rim … a week of the new Fall semester followed… and then …

Power to The Peaceful this past weekend celebrated its 12th annual event with @ 70,000 people, all ages, a decidedly younger crowd profile, a peppering of families and children’s entertainments, and revelers …. Greeted plenty of my former HS students … partying and hugging and hooting.   Michael Franti et al is a phenomenon .. the new album, Sound of Sunshine, is an upbeat affirmation of love and life … the younger folks seem to be encountering his music from a pair of fairly recent pop crossover tunes …

I wonder if they’ll swim upstream to discover the engine that begat the group’s pop / commercial success?  I wonder what is actually going through Guerilla Management’s  mind and heart? … I know they are wiley   … walking a line between searing sociopolitical conscience and pop success … I wonder if they’ll flip the switch, turn on their big light  when the time is just right ….

Recent worldOneradio mixology synthesized recent experiences and insperiences …. whirligig walkabout recording … all of the above … along with thrilling musical moments with Suns of Arqa, On a Mission from Dub(pre-release), Francois Couture, Fort Knox 5, Louis Vega’s Dance Ritual, Pearl Jam, Roy Paci and Aretuska, and even some YA Boy … cause we ready!    = : ) ~

Power to the Peaceful sounds like a good time!

That’s a great idea ! you might consider installing a sub woofer ! = : 0 ~

Shake Shake Shake …

Senora ? your bootay? take your pick .. and just do it …

This week we started our academic year … lots of starry-eyed and / or sleepy scholars … getting into the new school year rhythm … it usually hits us all pretty hard … as we adjust our daily doings / energies …   and weekends become all the more precious for R + R …

We got lucky this weekend … our friend, Santosh, celebrated 50 …with his beautiful family and a clutch of friends from near and far … a “surprise” birthday shindig at a typical, simple working farm / stand in Sonoma … a fabulous foil …

DGIIN supplied the live vibes in a lively quartet configuration … non-stop danceable French / Spanish / English “ gypsy “ fusions .. mulch for a dance floor, hay bale al fresco seating, tamales, and fresh grilled veggies seasoned with black sea salt …  Poco a Poco Winery in the house, and Boont Ale on tap .. plenty of fruited elixirs for adults and the abundant, bouncy, beautiful children.   We danced and laughed and ate .. adults and children …a great way to meet and greet new friends….

Serendipitously, in our mailbox that same day was the soundtrack to “My Name is Khan”, so we listened to it the way up and back from the Bay Rim ….  aside from the gorgeous incarnations/conversations present at the party, our in-car listening might have been the most overtly  “East Indian” cultural component of our afternoon  … ah! the joys of our North American metro-cosmopolitan melting pot…. below the surface, “gitano” music has clearly traceable roots in the migration of East Indian peoples through the Middle East to Spain, France and beyond. Voila, a full meta-musical circle of sorts to a Santosh’s Sonoma celebration?

As the evening air quickly chilled us at sunset, and families headed homeward,

we pointed ourselves back towards Ashkenaz , a Berkeley community center icon over decades… to jump inna mix with Pato Banton and the Now Generation …  and Pato instantly had the room swaying, and skanking, and singing-along  .. Rastas and Rockers, and Yoman, a inventive Balinese free-styler on the floor, and player in Gamelan Sekar Jaya … till our crew’s legs ached …positive musics and positive vibez all around … glad to learn Pato has relocated to LA from London .. what a STAR …beaming, and inviting his admiring fans to chant lyrics and co-star, right up on stage, side by side  .. NO RINGERS ! a staple feature of his live performances … music is magic… can bear powerful messages, and inject your soul …

Where have you shaken your booty lately ? …   = : ) ~

ViPS :  in the flow with messages and musics from Sam Cook, Songhai, Stevie Wonder, and Salif Keita, Stern + Perlman+ all kinda musics … our recent worldOne mixology has stirred in : Zakir Hussein, Herbie Hancok’s IMAGINE project, Justin Moore ( Bawdy Country) Fila Brasilia, Joan Soriano, Juan Luis Guerra, Cielo, The Roots, and some fabulous revisits to works of Toni Childs …we have been corresponding with Canadian composer Francois Couture, whose imaginings  simply knock us out .. we commend you to his “Tape Speed” .. while we await Francois’s forthcoming projects … and we ponder “ The Peace Project” visit to SF, and the prospect of co-creating  worldOne festival in LA and ???  … they may say we are dreamers …

I hope one day you will join us,

And the world will live as one.

Rockin in Oaxaca

Musica Escondida / rOaxakin  Coast

We just returned from a few weeks on the coast of Oaxaca … Puerto Escondido and vicinity …  goal : R+ R and surf recreation ..  to relax and re-create ourselves …repair and gather our QI .. post-festival, and pre-academic year…

My vitality always rekindles around the sea / surfing .. and what a location to enjoy same …. regular scenic sessions at Carizalillo to all-in Zicatela …

Hot, sweaty, surfy, double rainbow morning, lighting storms, amorous sea turtles …. lush daily mercados, and eating with gusto and hoping for the best …

The streets are lively almost all day and night with itinerant sounds of knife sharpeners, Gas de Oaxaca delivery trucks and octopus mongers… Plenty Dub vibz in Zicatela at Casa Babylon( hand adorned by the same artist as Sierra Nevada World Music Festival), live Bugalu and son at Club Congo in the Adoqin.

Some of the best music hits were issuing from odd and assorted places … paint stores and dusty-rusty VW beetles .. wafting at great distances through humid night skies …interrupting sleep and urging whirligig walks … to find live events and large ensembles in the Municipal Plaza for, among other celebrations, Taxi Driver Appreciation Day … all kinds of tropical and Mexican Trad / POP … and SKY satellite … in itself presenting disquieting intrusive paradoxes of beamed-in images and sounds, in otherwise and decreasingly unlikely palapa’d places.

After several days of enjoying the varied tropicalismo we were listening to each day via local indie radio, we visited in studio at Radio Esmeralda 94.1 in Bacocho. The staff greeted us warmly, and we took several pictures together under their Marlin-wearing-sunglasses-and-headphones logo .. I have proposed a musical and cultural exchange .. lets see what develops …

My compañeros assured me that I should bring a recorder next trip, and they will introduce me, to coax/invite local Zapotec and Mixtec men to produce the variety of entertaining and bizarre sounds, whistles, and peals they create with hands and leaves, instead of beat boxing … will do !

Arrived home with a list of music diggs scribbled in my little spiral notebook :

Jota Quest, Mariachi Mexico ( which led me to Jorge Negrete), Inspector, Lulu Santos, house artist Dennis Ferrer,  New Age Artists Dean Eversen with Xian Ting,  and even a dance floor thriller by the ubiquitous Shakira.

Stacked up and for radio mixes is a pickup truck o US of A country singles (Holler Back)/ The Lost Trailers) , and selections from heavyweight Roots’ / How I Got Over …   spent the morning listening to a whole lotta Sheryl Crow, and Bob Marley’s last concert is on deck … with a big Bud attached, as a summer vacation gift from a neighbor … positive vibration, ye-ah !

Have you journeyed this summer ?  what soundscapes might you have you taken in ?

Whoa … now that is the FULL rainbow .. thanks D.R.ed !

worldOne blesstival

Blesstival …. Restival …

worldOnelove sunflower power was in full blossom and effect in El Cerrito Cali this July 3-4 …

THANK ya’lll to all who made the trip to the Bay Rim  ….  for a glorious couple of days together grazin in the grass …. Appreciation to Rocky Dawuni and Dwight Tribble, Lisa Schultz and Willow, who otherwise reside in LA …

A festival is a rather huge undertaking, and this year we again grew incrementally all around .. which means beautiful and sometimes painful lessons …. sound and staging, managing thousands of people, and some unruly pets, and the unexpected golf cart crash  …

Thank you City and citizens of El Cerrito !  and for all the extended positive vibrations and well wishes ….

Highlights are many, and different for everyone. From the intimacy of the opening solo performance of Folkster John McCord through all the scene and sound changes all day  …. through the evening salsa jam …. kids frolicking and crowd skankin ….  vacilando !

I’ll mention here that, at one point in the day … Gamelan Sekar Jaya had assembled on stage .. in royal purple “Nehru” jackets  and sarongs and flowered head wraps …  and had EVERYONE enthralled in shimmering Balinese musics and classical costumed, nearly fantasmagoric  dance … on a neighborhood baseball field … the spirits had been invited and descended/emanated,  palpably …

I almost could not believe my ears and eyes … the trees, flags, light and breeze seemed to conspire …. Everything was taken /caught up in it …. my beloved wife and co-producer Debra Sue came into the sound tent … and burst into showers of unrestrained, exultant tears …  we kissed and swayed .. and engaged in deep sparkly eyes technique …

Country … Reggae … Hip Hop … Berber … Jazz …. eye to eye and soul to soul allaround  … nice nice nice ….

As Michael Roman said …the festival was a worldOneradio show in 3D ….all the messages and musics unfolded into a life affirming beautiful spectacle …

Been repairing and repacking all this last week … its nearly a wrap …. and finally getting some much needed non-list oriented sleep  …. What a blesstival … now,  restival ….. = : ) ~

Corey…you truly outdid yourself this year. Hard to believe that the worldOne Festival could possibly become more beautiful, but it did. Thank you for your vision, hard work, and faith. Can’t wait to see it next year…and to do one in LA sometime soon.

Oop…posted two of Dwight Trible…and while he certainly deserves double billing, I meant to post one of Rocky Dawuni as well…

Where’s the Dwight Trible? Love that guy; incredible singer!

He’s the double image in my first comment…

Earthy context …. cataclysmic environmental disaster bubbling in the Gulf,  and the World Cup …  what respective spectacles of the moment  …

watching (muted) USA England at the moment .. cannot figure out what fan-generated sound-maker is making that amazing/distressing droning sound … its less “annoying”  via Univision …  just clipped a NYT /Clive Mason (distant relation?)  photo of Siphiwe Tshambala delivering a ninja-like balazo, to make it 1-0  for RSA over Mejico … a hard fought game … again … amidst a global backdrop of epic pairs of opposites ….

South Africa spent nearly 6 billion to host a ball game .. THE ball game … while nearly 1 in 10 South Africans are afflicted with HIV/AIDS … and we are busy producing /buying/using petroleum-using vehicles as if oil and nature/time will never “run out” … to the tune of BILLIONS in private profit taking in direct inverse proportion to perilous environmental degradation ….

Life is like a dream and you are the dreamer … Lucid Living / Timothy Freke

I have spent this year laboring deeper, and longer as a public school teacher… and worldOneradio producer …  its all ONE thing for me now .. I am honestly not quite sure, after 12 full time years,  if I, mi organismo, can endure the public school system … swelling class sizes, institutional corporatisms, educational status quo,  posing that we are all about reform, blazing trails … daily I have been immersed with keen, social action-aspiring and  thoughtful (and too-often, apathetic, unsupported) youth, many of whom I admired and got to hug at graduation yesterday … and then battled in air hockey at Grad Night last night … ( Lisa Schultz! looking forward to a an overdue rematch)  writing protests appeals to Clear Channel/ Cox etc…  where else to be? …

Look up Hannah … Look up !     Charlie Chaplin

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood … if you are in, or can make your

The City of El Cerrito has been stellar, and committed to an enduring vision and community celebration, despite a harrowing budget climate … and we have overcome many obstacles and hurdles already …. It couldn’t happen without a lotta help from our friends and like-minded community-enlightened-enterprising sponsors  ..

Gracias a la vida … que nos ha dado tanto … Mercedes Sosa …

Festival season is here in North America … music festivals abound in the Cities .. to help folks shake their beauty and the blues … healings of sorts , certainly …. camping festivals in the country  and Sierras … Pow Wows in the heartlands and plains  ….  to wit … the first annual, and inaugural Richmond Community is  June 26th this month … which will affirm more than spaghetti straps and cold beer …. I dig your music, I appreciate your concerns and I think I like your ideas, but with this one being a bit of an exception, I often find your posts to be so chaotic they’re almost impossible to read. And I really want to be able to read em! Now I’ve got nothing against using string of consciousness and tangential evolution of one’s thoughts to communicate. Some of my favorite writers and poets, like Kerouac and Joyce, often do this. But man, I gotta tell you, sometimes reading your stuff makes relaxing my ears enough to understand ital-speak on the streets of Kingston seem easy by comparison. Maybe it’s just me. Love ya bro.

LOL ..

I know Brother .. appreciation … and thank you … LOVUback …

I feel the same way about them … circular …. after-glow of listening to Mssr. Sanders ? IDK …. definitely not linear strings, more like my nocturnal dreaming … which I let bubble up .. and ponder … and then refer to our Voyager Tarot .. and the sun/shadows in the back yard …

Dark Dreams Bubble … Toil and Trouble

Bad Dreams > Pay Attention > DisAster in 3-D

Our nocturnal dreams project our anxieties, fears and detunements … expose emotional realities akin to the process of manifestation of our earthly circumstances .. and we notice, discuss, decode, pay attention or we don’t

should we not heed … round we go again, with the ante stackin up until we have a day mare, bad star, disaster instead of a nightmare …. health crisis or cataclysm ..  oily explosions … nature / our bodies don’t lie …   the dark side is a juicy teacher .. with its own looking-glass language .. in the journey of the soul …

In the year 2010, disasters abound .. stress and social disorder .. its all connected … and some wildy unholy sh– … our exponentially expansive (personal) media network ( nervework) is responsive, though on tilt due to heavy commercialization / glamor/ clamor, and otherwise  …  twisted or oppressed by various powerful commercial interests and propagandists …

This world is movin much too fast we’re race babbling …. Stevie Wonder  / Secret Life of Plants

extreme capitalism meltdown …corporations vs labor/ regular folk / public education   …  Wall Street vs everycommodity and everybody as a commodity  …. wealth vs commonwealth …economy vs ecology, private vs public (education!)  …  oil / natural gas wars ..  religious tribal wars, crusades vs jihads,  church sex-scandal implosions  ..  Malawian bible-stoked  homophobia .. Chinese group-sexophobia  and infobia….  … bizarre attacks on children … drug-lord border wars,  manifest-destiny-nationalists vs  browner-redder mo’melanin  humans ….  tea party? people vs  gente de color cafe  … epic myth-steeped movies and epic earthy turmoils  .. junk food and junk media … social? media which can drive teen suicides  … post 9-11 collective trauma  echoes of the T-word … villagers vs aristocracy … students vs police …insurance companies vs health …  military industrial complex …  prison industrial complex  …. destroy and build for profit … . greedia, advertising-entertainment complex  …

Bad dreams are good .. in the great plan …. Joni Mitchell / Shine

all quite convenient to industrial-political purposes … Monsanto vs Seeds … Bechtel vs Water  …  BP et al vs the Oceans (Yemaya)  ..  HAARP vs  Shango …. Red vs Blue ( Nortenos /Surenos,  Dems / Republicans)  …  … Aliens vs Predator …  us vs them ..  cars vs bikes … television vs hearth, polarize and blame ,  …  mockery of hope or change  …  everyone on blast … “you’re the Hitler” … AHHHHHHHH !

Devil on the dance floor thirsty for a partner, stay off ‘m .. Mos Def + Talib Kweli + Hi Tech

Let’s rewind the mind .. mind the soul …

Classic, commonly agreed upon virtues have all been distorted, while the dark side is amped in a wicked masquerade  …  The Mahatma’s seven deadly sins …

  • Wealth without Work                       ( Wall St  -  thievery corporations)
  • Pleasure without Conscience     (  grab and go, use-it-up-toss-it mind set, i god)
  • Science without Humanity           ( relentless resource grabs, gadgetricks )
  • Knowledge without Character    ( Egoism, socio-pathology, me me me )
  • Politics without Principle              ( Divisiveness, exclusion, you’re the Hitler, they gotta go)
  • Commerce without Morality       ( unbridled capitalism, enviro-degradation)
  • Worship without Sacrifice             ( Narrow zealotry, intolerance, violence)

In the face of so many disasters, self made, and so much trouble in the world  … we really need to wake up  ..  to have brighter eyes … indeed,  genuine sparking eyes technique …..

I want you to go the window and open it and yell “I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna take it anymore  … Howard Beal

Any pairs of opposites or stressors you’d care to point out/ exorcise?
