Who is the ultimate 007 / James Bond?

Is it Sean Connery whom you feel is the ultimate James Bond or Roger Moore?  Is it the more modern Pierce Brosnan or the short-lived Timothy Dalton?  Or are you liking the newest actor to embody the international spy, Daniel Craig?

There will be more 007 talk tomorrow, but in the meantime, who is your favorite James Bond?

  1. As a Pierce Brosnan fan my sentiments are slanted…but Connery gets the ‘Best Bond’ nod. For all Bond fans, I came across a great French spoof of the bond series called ‘OSS117: Cairo Nest of Spies’ starring Jean DuJardin. Laughed my a– off, and he’s an amazing actor/comedian.

  2. I was really starting to like Daniel Craig’s take on Bond, although with the MGM financial issues and the next Bond film in litigation hell I doubt we’ll be seeing him again in the role. Though, I really have to pick Connery. He was the first James Bond I was introduced too by my folks on VHS when I was a kid, and something about his cocksure charismatic ways really made me smile even as a kid.

  3. are you kidding? sean connery. i was at murfield for the celebrity golf day before the tournament in the early 80’s, and saw about 300 female fans moving from hole to hole. we wondered what was up and decided to investigate. it was sean connery, wearing old jeans and a floppy fishing hat, paired up with another celeb, but for the life of me, i can’t remember who it was because it probably didn’t matter. the women were there for connery.

  4. Connery’s the classic. But what do the women have to say?

  5. Daniel Craig! For his psychological portrayal more akin of the dark character described in the books. Although I am not a cold-blooded alcoholic bastard, I have always aspired to be ruthless like Mr. Bond. I prefer the darker persona and Daniel Craig captures that darkness. As for second, the nod goes to Sean Connery for his ladies’ man rake portrayal. Neat question of the day!

  6. I think Daniel was good but nothing beats Sean. I enjoyed Roger but his bond was different..Sean just has more sex appeal for me. I have all of the movies.
I love Pierce but not as a Bond..loved him more as the gentleman thief. Tim..sorry not so much.

  7. I think it would have to be the original…Sean Connery :) But they all have their own interesting quirks!

  8. I have to say I agree with seebaz on the darkside of Daniel. I’d love to see Daniel play another Bond role.

  9. Hands down, Sean Connery was the quintessential James Bond. He Created the on screen character. Although, I have to say I was amazed and disillusioned, when a couple of years ago I was talking to some 19 year old girls who simply didn’t know and could not believe that Sean Connery was ever James Bond!
    Imagine that?

  10. Hmmmm. Wow I like these questions. Well lets see, George Lazenby & Timothy Dalton in my opinion, were not even close to living up to Bond. Roger Moore was good, and Daniel Crieg was pretty good too. Sean Connery on the other hand was THE Bond. The original, the classic. I myself grew up Pierce Brosnan as 007. I see Connery in the role and I like it, its great, but…. When I watch Brosnan it just feels right when I hear him ask for his shaken martini. Brosnan has the young, suave secret agent, gentlemen ass-kicker look and that’s what I feel James would look & act like. I think he fits the role of James the best.

    Bond…………….James Bond..
