A creative blog by Heidi Huber on The Whole 9

Heidi Huber started her career with the sink or swim theory. Luckily she knows the freestyle which has taken her from the Chicago stage to behind the scenes in Los Angeles where she currently continues to tap as The Whole 9’s Chief of Everything Else.

How would you dance the night away?

Are you a two-steppin’ stylist or are you more of a shake your booty?  Do you fox-trot or hip-hop?

If you could dance the night away, how would you choose to do it?

  1. Dance the night away.

    1. At this joint beneath The W Hotel in Times square. The dance floor is this kind of see-thru Lava Lamp set-up that oh-so-lightly glows when one steps in certain areas. The libations are the finest on earth and the Music…well, someone got in to head and picked the mixes and RE-mixes of my favorite jams.
If we hadn’t needed to catch the 3am express train back up to White Plains, we’d STILL be there…

    2. Another joint, Twilo, in Manhattan, now unfortunately gone. House and Techno music PACKED with Bass Beats and Major Chords.
Got there at like 12:30am, left at 6:30am.
And at 6:30 am, there was a line down the street to get in.

    3. Nicky’s in San Francisco. A small neighborhood joint with a rather ’splendid’ friend!
Again, someone got into my head and played the music.

Now…to find this here in La-La Land!

  2. Nicky’s in San Francisco back in the day (which wasn’t too long ago). My go-to spot every Friday night when I lived around the corner for some righteous booty-shaking. The only thing that could possibly have made Nicky’s better was the company of splendid friends like the one above.

  3. to van halen, of course.

  4. - any cool hard core industrial-tech-metal mosh pit, slam dancin’ all the way.
like having sex with 300 people at the same time.

  5. the slow groove of reggae Reggae wine

  6. I love to dance and don’t need to go anywhere. I have a dance mix on my ipod and it is my main source of exercise. Brazilian jazz, hip hop, blues guitar, and even some Hendrix. What ever come on that is what I groove to. Keeps me happy and healthy.

  7. I am with cherylart. If there is a beat I can not help myself but to move to the groove.

  8. Old Skool Funk and a pair of Stacy Adams~

  9. In my car or jumping on my bed. Currently, to the Black Keys.

  10. Hey Rosendo…we’re going to be doing a funky, fun, Valentine’s party at the gallery in February. Turn down the lights and ask everyone to put on their dancing shoes :-)

  11. Argentine Tango in Buenos Aires…. that’s the only dance for me…. I’ve done ‘em all but gave up everything for Tango..
