Are your pets part of the family?

Yesterday, our resident stray cat, Emmylou Hairy, got hit by a car that was obviously speeding down our street.  She was more than a stray as she adopted us when we moved into our house, was always at the back door meowing for her breakfast and dinner (which she always received) and spent the nights patrolling and protecting our place.  She grew to be part of our family and we are sad that she is gone.

    Our Cinder died of a massive seizure on Christmas Day and we just got his ashes back so that we can have closure (going to go for a family hike and scatter his ashes). Its been so hard to say goodbye. Just as hard if he was part of our human family. So yes… they are family through and through.

    Yes! I was even accused of treating the new “grand dog” like he was a third grandchild!
    In our house, we are “the staff” and our cat Gracie is the lady of the manor.
