Do you prefer to write with a pen or pencil?

Yesterday, I was in a meeting with a designer who was writing his noties in pencil.  It took me aback as I always write in pen and figured everyone else did too.  Granted, this came in handy when he began sketching to illustrate a point, and I thought that he must always have a pencil at-the-ready to sketch at a moment’s notice.

Do you prefer to write with a pen or pencil?

  1. I’ve recently re-discovered the #2 pencil.
Writing with a pencil is like experiencing the rustle and comfort of fresh, clean sheets!

  2. pen, then reworking on the keyboard.

  3. Extra fine point sharpie always……for quick sketching too.

  4. I’ve become rather addicted to a Wacom tablet and stylus….

  5. I’m a blue pen person, at least medium tip (no fine tip for me). I love writing with a good pen though my handwriting has gotten bad since I use the keyboard so much.

I have a good friend that is old school, and still writes letters with a good fountain pen. Ha.

  6. Black Pilot Precise (extra fine) V5’s…I sketch with them, write with them…and they’ve recorded in my journal for the last 30 years!

  7. Almost always pen, mostly for the physical weight of holding it, and because having a cap and a practically unbreakable tip is particularly helpful when I carry it around in my back pocket at work.

  8. Yep, black pilot fine or extra fine. A rapidograph is even better, but I don’t carry them around. For crossword puzzles and sudoku, I’m still a pencil (and eraser) guy.
