A creative blog by Heidi Huber on The Whole 9

Heidi Huber started her career with the sink or swim theory. Luckily she knows the freestyle which has taken her from the Chicago stage to behind the scenes in Los Angeles where she currently continues to tap as The Whole 9’s Chief of Everything Else.

What everyday victories do you thoroughly enjoy?

Is it a completely even cut through your bagel or is it the super-smooth feeling of your teeth after you brush them?  When you go through your day, what everyday victories do you thoroughly enjoy?

  1. Getting a full 8 hours of sleep is a minor victory. Having my camera with me when I unexpectedly run into a great image counts as major triumph in my book, maybe only equalled by having a pretty girl smile at me for no specific reason. And finding $20 I’d completely forgotten about in a pants pocket feels pretty good too! ;)

  2. Getting an email like this from a wonderful man named Tom who wandered into the gallery to purchase a gift and has now become a friend and Peace Project ally…

“I have voted everyday (so far) at cultivatewines, I have joined goodsearch, and I have looked at web sites for the Peace Project and The Whole 9. I was originally impressed just by your gallery, then even more impressed by your work providing 10,000 pairs of crutches to Sierra Leone – but seeing pictures and videos of your work makes it even more amazing. Seeing some of the details makes the work in Africa seem an even greater accomplishment (and is exciting to see).”

  3. excursions with my son.

  4. Being able to sit down at the kitchen table with my wife and perhaps a cup of hot tea. Create little moments to help carry us through our day.

  5. - every time i wake up with out haven’t gone through nightmares

  6. Yes, dangerousideas, getting 8 hours of sleep is totally a victory. That means that I was successful at going to bed on time and staying asleep all night, which shouldn’t be nearly as rare as it is for me.
