My first exposure to live Blues music was at Kingston Mines in Chicago. Baa-BAA-ba-BUH! God, I hated it. From then on, I didn’t care what kind of Blues you played, I hated it. Blanket the entire Blues genre!

In the band I’m in, we play some blues. Yeah, that karma is a bitch, and I even sing one entire blues song by myself. Sigh…but at least it’s not that Baa-BAA-ba-BUH crap.

On this day, January 30, 1969, The Beatles made their last public performance giving an impromptu concert on the rooftop of a London recording studio. I love watching excerpts of this concert, the look, and the raw feel on a cold UK day with what still remains the most famous band of all time…

What writers are under (and over) rated?

There are writers that have had a book leap to the top of the New York Times Best-Sellers List, I read the book, and sometimes I wonder what all the fuss is about…not much of the time, but sometimes.

Then there are writers like Leif Enger who writes poetry on each page of his novel, Peace Like a River. You don’t know him? It’s because he’s unknown and under-rated!
